pack a picnic

On my flight back to LA for Christmas I had a quick layover and picked up this gopicnic for a snack.

They are awesome, a whole little meal and they are gluten, transfat, HFCS, and MSG free!

The Superior Cut

There is nothing like day drinking to celebrate the last day of teaching for the semester.
And that's just what I did after class finished.
I met up with the boys at R&R for an extra-refreshing beverage and some lunch.

It may be in the back of the BofA building,
but once you get inside it's a chill place with good service and tasty food.

I of course had a G&T.  For the food I had the pesto chicken sandwich with mozz on a brioche bun. I love when I can get brioche, it feels like I've found a quarter on the ground or something just as randomly pleasing.

Oh, and the best part about R&R?
Their fries.
They are steak fries, obvi the best cut. Absolutely delicious.

After our last final, the girls and I headed over here again from more drinks and more fries.
Still the best.

lunch these days

This is the semester from hell.
We are all about to pull our hair out and cry, and we aren't ones to cry, promise.

Lunch is often filled with many mini containers of things. You know how I love a mini.
There is usually ranch and some veggies, cheese, bread and some protein.  Here it was hummus.

Please note my reading glasses, a recent addition.  Too much to read in this place.

Rant/Rave: Lunch Bags

I recently went to target, because, well, I always go to target, duh.  Anywho, my timing was excellent as they had just put their back-to-school items on clearance, holla!
There really wasn't anything too exciting, I got a couple of folders for fifty cents which was nice, because I love a good folder, but overall, nothing spectacular...at least that's what I thought until I saw this:

A hello kitty lunch bag! What's that you ask? How much for such an amazing vessel of food? Oh yes, $2.74! Whoa! Less than three dollars for anything hello kitty is a solid investment, let along a lunch bag!!! Clearly I purchased it and it has since replaced that boring striped one.

Better yet, I have been (literally) swinging it around town all week and of course everyone loves it. Who doesn't love Hello Kitty? I know, an absurd suggestion. I would say it really has been a little pick-me up for the whole department, where everyone is deep in the trenches getting ready for the end of our lives (better known as midterms), hello kitty is able to put a smile on our otherwise pained faces.
